Air Transportation
KY Dam Village Airport
Located in Calvert City, the Kentucky Dam Village Airport offers a 4,000 ft. paved, lighted airstrip with views of Kentucky Lake, the Tennessee River, and Kentucky Dam upon approach. Free aircraft parking is available (ramp or tie down) and a pilot’s lounge with showers and restrooms are available. Originally owned and operated by Kentucky Dam Village State Park, in 2018 a lease agreement was signed by the City of Calvert City and the Kentucky Department of Parks for the city of maintain and operate the airport. Both Jet-A fuel and AvGas continue to be offered via self-service. A courtesy car is available on-site.
Barkley Regional Airport
Barkley Regional Airport, located in Paducah, Kentucky, serves as a key transportation hub for the region. It offers commercial flights primarily through regional airlines, connecting passengers to major hubs across the U.S. The airport features a 6,500 ft. and 5,000 ft. runways, car rental services, and ample parking. With its convenient location, Barkley Regional supports both business and leisure travelers, contributing to the area’s connectivity and economic growth.
Nashville International Airport
Nashville International Airport (BNA) is located less than two hours from Marshall County via I-24 South. It is a major airport serving the region with a range of domestic and international flights. The airport serves 19 airlines with 523 average daily arrivals and departures. The airport plays a crucial role in connecting travelers to major destinations, supporting both tourism and business in the region.

Rail Transportation
Paducah & Louisville Railway (P&L)
The Paducah & Louisville Railway (P&L) is a regional freight railroad serving the western Kentucky and southern Illinois regions. In Marshall County, the P&L plays a crucial role in our local economy by facilitating efficient transportation of goods and raw materials for our existing industries. P&L connects directly to four of the seven North American Class I carriers: the BNSF and CN (Paducah, KY), CSXT (Madisonville, KY) and NS and CSXT (Louisville, KY).

River Transportation

River Accessibility
The Tennessee River flows along Marshall County’s northern and eastern shorelines which provides maritime access to the Ohio, Mississippi and Cumberland Rivers. The river provides a strategic transportation route for shipping goods while also offering a cost-effective alternative to overland freight. This inland waterway provides our existing businesses with river access to New Orleans, Memphis, Mobile, Nashville, Louisville, St. Louis, Pittsburgh and many additional cities.

Road Transportation
Interstates I-24 & I-69
Intersecting in the heart of our community are Interstates I-24 (east-west) and I-69 (north-south), both providing direct access to major regional and national markets. This connectivity simplifies logistics and distribution, making it easier for businesses to reach customers and suppliers efficiently. Marshall County is within a day’s drive of 70% of the United States.
